Many years ago, as a freshman at Michigan State University, I loathed the cafeteria, "cafe" we liked to call it. The food was dry, bland, old and above all unhealthy. So, I lived through an entire year on food that makes lesser men sprint for the bathroom and cry out in shock and makes girls migrate to the gym to work out the evil trans fat and carbs they just consumed, to keep that ever so flat stomach that is rewarded with free cover and beer.
Once I was freed from the torment of the "cafe", I was so excited to start cooking for my room mates all the delicious food my mother had always cooked for me. Chicken Alfredo, Lasagna, Grilled Fish with Lime, delicious sweet potato fries, and above all fresh vegetables. About a month after lavish dinners for four, my fiances dipped to the saddest level of broke. I realized that eating well comes at a price, and the ingredients I so love to ad, also come at a cost.
Of course being so obsessed with food, I found my way around certain ingredients, making "cheap" changes when I could to make my stomach and bank account full
My blog will give great recipes for students who like to eat well, healthy and on the cheap
